Any boys between the ages of 11 and 18 can join Troop 73 as a youth!

How Do I Sign Up To Start A Merit Badge?

Send an email to Mr. Reed and CC another adult, tell Mr. Reed what merit badge you want to take, a merit badge counselor will be assigned to you! At the next meeting, approach Mr. Reed and ask for a blue card.

How Often and Where Does Troop 73 Meet?

Troop 73 meets most Mondays from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM unless otherwise noted on the website, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Novato.

What is the Goal of Scouting?

The ultimate goal of scouting is to teach young men and women important life skills, teamwork skills, and most importantly to have fun!

What Do Scouts Do At Meetings?

A meeting begins around 7:00 PM with opening flags. From there, scouts go into a skills lesson where they will be taught something such as first aid, fire safety, etc. Or something that pertains to an upcoming event. After the instructional portion, there will be a game, usually a game like tag or red light-green light. After the game, the scouts do closing flags, and go home; this is usually around 8:30 PM.

Is Troop 73 a Boys or Girls Troop?

Troop 73 is an all boys troop.

Does Scouting Cost Money?

Yes, each year Troop 73 collects yearly dues, some scouts that need it may qualify for a scholarship. In addition, some events cost money, and parts of the uniform must be purchased.

Where Do Scouts Get A Uniform?

BSA Uniforms can be purchased from the Marin Council Trading Post at 225 West End Ave in San Rafael, CA. There is also a chance that the troop may have some spare uniforms to give scouts that my need one.
